LiveWorkPlay (LWP) is a registered Canadian charity launched in 1995 to explore solutions to societal barriers and quality of life issues impacting people with intellectual disabilities and their families in the Ottawa area community.
It is all about people with intellectual disabilities having a good life. This means having a real home, being a part of a welcoming community, enjoying healthy relationships with other people, and making a meaningful contribution to society. The same things that everyone wants and needs!
LiveWorkPlay is a non-governmental organization that partners with the public, private, and charitable sectors to deliver innovative and effective supports and services.
LiveWorkPlay solicits and responds to formal and informal input from its program participants, family members, and community partners on a continuous basis in order to provide the highest quality of service possible.
The organization's unique leadership structure ensures that front line staff have the trust and confidence to use their talents to make great things happen, while at the same time future-thinking processes keep LiveWorkPlay moving forward. Most importantly, people with intellectual disabilities are front and centre at LiveWorkPlay. They are supported to find their voice and make it heard, both within the organization, and in the community at large.
