Happy Canada Day 150!

Canada Day and the Canada 150 celebrations mark the anniversary of Confederation in 1867, the political activities that established our country. We recognize that the Indigenous Peoples of these lands have a history dating back some 15000 years, and that their full inclusion in Canadian society remains a challenge even in 2017. As we celebrate Canada’s rightful standing in the world as one of the greatest countries on the planet, we also enter year 151 with a renewed determination that we will continue to improve on including marginalized people. Our mission may be focused on people with intellectual disabilities, but our work addresses issues of rights, housing, employment, and social inclusion that benefits all excluded persons, and delivers important results that help improve our community for all citizens.

STAYING IN TOUCH

This week you have likely been bombarded with messages from charities and businesses about Canada’s anti-spam legislation (CASL) asking you to confirm e-news subscriptions or consent to continue receiving emails. This was motivated by the possibility of lawsuits that could have arisen through court actions in the “private right of action” provisions of the legislation.

Although this provision has now been suspended, LiveWorkPlay is taking this opportunity to remind you that you can easily opt out of any communications from LiveWorkPlay. All of our mailing lists include a CASL-compliant “unsubscribe” feature which you will find at the bottom of all of our communications.
