LiveWorkPlay Joins National Cash Mob, Celebrating International Day of Persons with Disabilities, December 3, 2017
This observance has always been a favoured opportunity for LiveWorkPlay to celebrate progress towards a more inclusive local, provincial, national, and international community. In fact, all of our guiding statements – mission, vision, and values – were derived from the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities.
This year we turned International Day of Persons with Disabilities into a full week of exciting events that culminated in a National Cash Mob with our partners at Gateway Association in Edmonton and TEAM Work Cooperative in Halifax!
The Ottawa site was with our employment partner Andrew Scott at Pita Pit Gloucester. One of the area’s strongest advocates for small business engagement with inclusive employment, Andrew of course leads by example in hiring people with disabilities, including (so far) two LiveWorkPlay members!
Today’s cash mob started just after the lunch rush at 1pm, featuring a prize wheel and lots of enthusiastic participation from the LiveWorkPlay and Pita Pit teams. We’ve assembled a video collage that captures some of the action and spirit of the day!
