Reflections on a busy fall, looking ahead to an exciting winter!
A GREAT WELCOME BACK AT AGM 2014
The Welcome Back Family Feast and Annual General Meeting on September 19 was attended by more than 150 supporters and the upbeat atmosphere benefited from the presence of Her Excellency Sharon Johnston, who presented The Governor General’s Caring Canadian Award to 10 recipients. The award recognizes individuals who volunteer their time to help others and to build a smarter and more caring nation. You can read more about the recipients and the ceremony from our September 23 blog.
The AGM was also the occasion for the release of a video produced by Dow Honda to promote employment. It features LiveWorkPlay member Royce Rinne and his work at Dow as an Inventory Analyst. The video is soon to be included in the Government of Ontario publication “Spotlight on Transformation.”The regular business of the evening included the election of the board of directors, which includes four new members. You can read their biographies in the Annual Report 2014. The membership also adopted new bylaws associated with the LiveWorkPlay application for continuance under the new Canadian Not-for-profit Corporations Act. LiveWorkPlay has since received the official Certificate of Continuance.
