Cecelia joins the Wall of Inspiration!

On March 2, 2016, LiveWorkPlay past-chair and long-serving board member Cecelia Taylor saw her name added to the Wall of Inspiration at Ottawa City Hall. She was joined by another 31 individuals and organizations recognized with United Way Ottawa Community Builder Awards in 2015. One of her fellow recipients was local media personality and community volunteer Dylan Black, who will be co-hosting the inaugural edition of the new LiveWorkPlay community celebration Make A Buzz Ottawa! on May 12.

Cecelia initially received her award on June 4 from Rabbi Bulka who was also present today at today’s ceremony. Back in June the occasion was the LiveWorkPlay 20th anniversary celebration, and thanks to a lot of coordination with United Way Ottawa, event host Derick Fage, and Cecelia’s husband Michael, the award took Cecelia completely by surprise and has become a legendary moment in LiveWorkPlay history.

Cecelia is a professor in the School of Health and Community Studies at Algonquin College and continues to volunteer with LiveWorkPlay, serving as a member of the Governance Committee. Ottawa is known as one biggest small town in Canada, and the connections are often remarkable. Make A Buzz Ottawa! was inspired by a group of Algonquin College Public Relations students, and one of their current professors is none other than former LiveWorkPlay board member Stephen Heckbert. Small world indeed!
