Jennifer Cunningham: Celebrating A Ten Year Work Anniversary
Quality in human services has a direct correlation to quality humans delivering those services, and experienced, committed staff who stay in their jobs over the long term are critical to a strong workplace culture. They serve as mentors to new staff, and establish a consistent trusted presence with individuals supported by LiveWorkPlay and their families.
We are now sharing a bit more about our staff team on their annual workplace anniversaries. Join us in celebrating a September 26 tenth year work anniversary for Jennifer Cunningham!
To help get to know her a little better, here are some questions and answers about Jennifer.
What is a favourite memory of your most recent year at LiveWorkPlay?
Getting together at events such as the Family Feast and other gatherings where I can connect with members and their families in person. A lot of the support I provide is given over the phone, because I am a contact for many of our members when they need help at night, for example. I enjoy the face to face time at the social events when people say “Oh, you’re Jennifer!”
What is a favourite memory of your time at LiveWorkPlay over the years?
It is hard to decide as I have had a variety of different roles in my time at LiveWorkPlay. From years ago, I enjoyed offering a music class in small groups, and also supporting the youth group with Friday night movies, hockey games, and other fun times. In more recent years, being a part of the team that helped people move to and enjoy their own homes.
What are you looking forward to in the future at LiveWorkPlay?
Really just more of the same, being a part of helping people following their dreams, and to help celebrate their successes. Life isn’t always easy and my role of supporting people when they are not feeling their best is really important.
What do others have to say about Jennifer?
Jennifer often helps people late at night when they are feeling alone and having trouble getting to sleep, it’s work few people know about and it is so important.
She has so many gifts and talents, and uses art and music to make connections that our members really appreciate.
Jennifer will take a conversation that starts out with someone in distress, and by the end they are laughing and can’t remember why they called.
