Steven MacPhee and Brendan Devlin receive the LiveWorkPlay Community Match Award 2025
Rebecca Coxon, LiveWorkPlay Team Lead:
I’m thrilled to be here today to share the wonderful story of two individuals who truly embody the spirit of connection and community.
Their journey together began five years ago. In 2020 the world was navigating a global pandemic, and our challenge was to figure out how to continue connecting people, while keeping everyone safe and healthy. Matching members with volunteers during that time was difficult, but nevertheless, new relationships were started and flourished.
A potential volunteer reached out to us in April of 2020, and we knew he was going to be a great match, once we figured out the right member, and overcome some of the barriers of the time.
We finally made the match connection in the fall of 2020, and they began their time together with socially distanced walks—something that, at the time, was the best we all could do.
But since then, their adventures have only grown, from walking and biking, to skating along the canal this year. They’ve birdwatched at Mud Lake, shared countless delicious snacks, and even traveled to Pennsylvania with fellow LiveWorkPlay member Tim. Through all of this, they’ve developed an effortless and joyful dynamic that has been an absolute pleasure to witness.
Please join me in congratulating Steven MacPhee and Brendan Devlin as they receive the Community Match Award!
