Trio Bistro & Lounge Receives LiveWorkPlay Inclusive Employer Award 2025
Trio Bistro & Lounge receives Inclusive Employer Award
Good evening to all, I’m Anna Nelson, the LiveWorkPlay Director of Employment Supports, and I am honoured to be presenting this year’s private sector Inclusive Employer Awards.
This award has a long history that includes in recent years incredible employers like Déménagement Outaouais Moving, Coconut Lagoon, Costco Wholesale Canada, and Levy TD Place.
This year we are celebrating multiple employers, and I will start with one of our newer partnerships. We are delighted to have Leo Ceglia, VP of the Enterprise Project Management Office at People Corporation, to present this award. Leo has played a vital role as a member of our Employment Task Force since 2021. He is a strong people connector and an incredible champion of the work we do and has helped us open many doors to new connections and employers. Thank you for being here Leo!
Last summer, after the co-owner of this business spent time with Inclusion Specialist Jen Broad and completed a Workplace Assessment, Jen told all of us that this was going to be a fabulous place for one of our candidates to work!
From the beginning, they welcomed and trusted our process of matching the right worker to the job, and were strongly committed to the hiring process, as one of their main values is having a strong and diverse workforce.
Last fall they welcomed Carl Sanderson with open arms and developed tools to make sure they had the right onboarding process and ensured the development of strong connections with his coworkers. They trusted Carl with a lot of independence from the beginning, and as they got to know him better, they leaned into his strengths so he could further develop in his role.
We are delighted to be honouring Trio Bistro & Lounge with an Inclusive Employer this evening so please join me in welcoming co-owner Patti Tuff, who is here to accept the award.
