Celebrating Social Work Week (March 1-7) and Social Work Month 2021
Did you know know that about 33% of the LiveWorkPlay staff team have Social Service Worker, Bachelor of Social Work, or Master of Social Work degrees from a college or university? These members of our team are not serving with LiveWorkPlay in the role of social worker, but the related skills and knowledge of this training are invaluable to our organization and the individuals we serve, and complements the formal education of other staff members. This includes a variety of backgrounds such as business, education, developmental service worker, applied science, communications, fine arts, political science, nursing, and other diplomas and degrees which provide unique foundations upon which all staff members receive ongoing training and professional development in support of the LiveWorkPlay mission.
LiveWorkPlay directly partners with organizations that offer social work programs and connects individuals we support to their services. We would like to take this opportunity to thank them for the work they do for all of us with respect to mental health and addictions, caregiver distress, poverty, grief, and homelessness, to name a few. We know that the pandemic has put tremendous pressure on individual professionals and organizations in meeting the overwhelming needs of citizens in distress and that you have received little public recognition for your efforts.
Thank you for all that you do!
