The LiveWorkPlay Employment Task Force Is Back!

The LiveWorkPlay private sector Employment Task Force (ETF) dates back to 2015, when local inclusive employers and inclusive employment advocates first convened with LiveWorkPlay staff to strategize about supporting additional hires of people with intellectual disabilities and autistic persons in the Ottawa area community. The ETF is a group of employment champions who use their social and business capital to create connections with the goal leading to authentic employment opportunities for those we support at LiveWorkPlay.

Although some online ETF activities continued throughout the pandemic, it was important to give the business community an opportunity to recover and rejuvenate. With the support of last year’s Inclusive Employer Award recipient Joe Thottungal, the Employment Task Force re-convened in person on April 11, with Joe hosting and sponsoring a business dinner at his incredible restaurant, Coconut Lagoon! One of the unique features of the restaurant is the availability of a private meeting space, which the ETF members were able to experience first hand.

If you are intersted in learning more about the Employment Task Force, please contact Jen Broad by email or 613-227-6044. If you just want to share ideas or contacts that might help LiveWorkPlay with matching employees with intellectual disabilities and employees, please get in touch, we promise that there will not be a sales pitch or efforts to sign you up for anything more than what you would like to provide. We appreciate your help and respect your time.
