National Volunteer Week (NVW) 2024 kicked off on April 14. LiveWorkPlay shared a week-long celebration of volunteerism to showcase not only the importance of volunteers to our mission, but to demonstrate this year’s NVW theme: every moment of volunteering at LiveWorkPlay matters! During National Volunteer Week, we want to recognize every volunteer and celebrate their contributions. LiveWorkPlay volunteers help us build our community into a welcoming place for people with intellectual disabilities. Every moment they give means the world to us and makes our community stronger!
Our volunteers support us to create connections in the lives of people with intellectual disabilities and autistic persons. We help reduce social isolation by bringing people together to share mutual interests and personal gifts. Moment by moment we can move from surviving to thriving!
It’s National Volunteer Week, and that’s the perfect time to remind ourselves that volunteering means we can experience continuous growth in our own quality of life, while improving the quality of life for others. That’s why volunteers are fundamental to meeting the challenges of every moment!
National Volunteer Week provides the perfect opportunity for an important reminder: volunteering matters! Sharing your time, skills, empathy, and creativity is vital to your wellbeing, and supports the inclusivity and strength of our communities.
